From the 11 barangays in Lucena City, we gave ourselves some time to interview some barangay officials at Barangay V together with my classmate Airish Apura, Claudette Talavera, Czarina Arevalo, Kathlyn Silva, Benazir Rosales, Joyce Reyes & Giorevh Ortega to know what are the projects they’re gonna do.
Unfortunately, the Captain of the barangay is not yet in there to be interviewed about the projects that will be held in the upcoming days. Good thing Mrs. Jacqueline Villaverde Mercurio, the Secretary of Barangay V, is there to help us know more about the upcoming projects that are being planned.
When we asked her what is the condition of the people in the barangay, she talked about some drug addicts that already surrendered due to the strict law that is being implemented in the country and they are now being monitored and they’re still looking forward to the other people of their barangay that is involved in these cases to surrender before it is too late.
She said that they have accomplished the additional and new medicine in their health center and at the generics that is being given and used by the citizen of the Barangay V for free and we also said that it was a good thing that they have a new medicine to be used.
Second accomplishment that they have done is the finished classrooms in Lucena West 4 Elementary School which is a donation from Eduard T. Sy, the Barangay Chairman of Barangay V, and as I looked at the pictures of the donated classroom being used, I can really see that the children and teachers using the classroom are happy about it.
She also said that the multipurpose center that are now being use by the citizen is also an accomplishment that they have done this year and she also said that they helped 7 drug addict to graduate the so called “SIPAG” or also called as the “Simula ng Pag-asa.”
So far, those are the information about the projects that are being done and accomplished by the Barangay V and still they have more plans to be done in the upcoming days.
